About

After three years with a brick-and-mortar storefront in Pilsen’s neighborhood we have moved our operations online. This is an interesting time for Tianguis and we are excited about what this phase will bring. In this new skin we will still continue to be a Chicago based, independent bookseller (and our home will be online), we will continue to collaborate on Proyecto Latina, and curate book readings with Latin@ authors and do what we’ve been doing in and around the city. We encourage you to join our free email list to stay in the know.

We are going to be doing some virtual renovations and we are working on bringing you a new and improved website in 2009 that will include a larger online bookshop that will have a similar book selection as our store: a handpicked selection of Latino interest books in English and select Spanish titles. We cater to bicultural and bilingual readers and we feature titles from U.S. Latino/Hispanic and Latin American authors, publications by Latino presses and bilingual children’s books.

In the meantime we encourage you to check out the titles at our Momotombo Shop.Visit our blog, El Literati, for chisme and commentary on Latino books, bookclub discussions, event listings and more.
